Those without swords can still die upon them! by LaLeLina Those without swords can still die upon them! by LaLeLina
I'm soooo in love with the epic masterpiece of Tolkien and I love the films of Peter Jackson and that he has brought the lovable characters so impressively to life. I love Richard Taylor and Weta for their detail-oriented costumes and film settings and weapons!!! So it was one of my biggest wishes, to make sometimes a cosplay of a character from Lord of the Rings!!! And my dreams come true!!!!!!! *___*

For a competition at the Bookfair in Frankfurt, which was held for the guest of honor "New Zealand", I created this costume. Richard Taylor was there!!!

Eowyn is a wonderful character. She's powerful and gentle at the same time and radiates a wonderful dignity, so I decided to present her on this event. I was so proud that I've made this costume and I won the 2nd price! I have a VIP-Ticket for the europe premiere in London. I'm soooo excited!! >////<

Those, who are familiar with LARP, probably are grinning about my costume, because in terms of building armour and weapons, I'm a completely novice. But to me it was important to craft everything in this costume by myself and I won't buy any finished Replicas. (Okay, the flag is bought, 'cause lack of time, but the sword and shield and helmet and all the rest was selfmade <3)

So please do not judging me too hard. Of course there are far better versions of this cosplay in terms of fabrics and materials and craft skills, but I am really really proud for what I've done!!! :)

Oh and by the way, my wig is much longer, but the most of it is hidden under the cape, to stay undetected. ;)

I really hope, you like it! My lovely Sebastian took this picture. He is a newby in photography, but I think, he did a great job. Thank you very much!!! xoxo

This is fantastic! I love your helmet. It looks soo well done and adapted for your own head. It all looks soo god on you. Wonderful!
Your chainmail, the leatherwork and your cape. I love your cape. Its so simpel, and that is just what the Rohans are all about. Sad enough, i dont see your boots. Can you please tell me how they are made or what they are?
2-nd place? Thats not s
urprising. I wonder what Sir Taylor had to say about it.
Ps. Tell your friend Sebastian, that the picture is incredibly done. Perfect. Ds

Wow, that looks amazing! I want to make an Eowyn/Dernhelm costume for a convention next year and I'm currently searching the web for inspiration, this is by far the best cosplay I've seen of her so far. Is that real chainmail? I'm still trying to figure out how to fake it, been thinking of just using a large knitted sweater or something similar... This pic will definitely go to my collection on Pinterest :)

2nd place? You got second? That's ridiculous.

You deserve first. (then again, I've always been biased in favor of Eowyn)
